On Tuesday, March 26th, the participants of the Master Class presented their artistic project to the jury, showing their preparatory works such as videos, sketches and mockups.

The candidates were rather anxious, as the jury would only select one project to be produced and exhibited in the Palais de Tokyo alongside a 3D video of Mathieu Mercier.

After a stormy debate, each member of the jury defending his favorite project, the jury finally took a decision.

The prizewinner, Cecile B. Evans, did not contain her joy as Mrs Christine Albanel announced the results. The 3 other nominees, Philipp Alexander Engelhardt, Romain Sein and David Ancelin also expressed their surprise and enthusiasm. Their preparatory work will be also exhibited in Palais de Tokyo in September 2013.

The Push Your Art experience is far from ending for Cécile B. Evans as she will realise her artistic project with the support of 3D experts in the coming months. The final result will be exhibited in Palais de Tokyo in September.

Before the meeting with Wim Wenders, so expected by the candidates, they viewed on Saturday morning Pina's making off with Joséphine Derobe, stéréographe of the movie.

From 11:30 am and during almost one hour, the candidates had the privilege to discuss with the famous german director, who came specially to Paris for the occasion. Strong supporter of the 3D in its capacity to seize the reality, questioned the finalists about their artistic project. He also approached diverse subjects such as the genesis of the movie Pina, the artistic potential of the 3D or even the current use of this medium by the cinematographic industry.

Early in the afternoon, the candidates drew up a first assessment of the Master's class with Jean de Loisy and Mathieu Mercier, artist and sponsor of the competition. Provided with knowledge acquired during these 3 days, several of them developed their project and wish to turn to the 3D in their next artistic creations.

The master's class ended with the conference open to the public given by Wim Wenders in the Palais de Tokyo. In this occasion, 11 candidates joined about 250 visitors who attended this exceptional event. Equipped with 3D glasses distributed by Orange, they assisted the unpublished projection of Wim Wenders’s short film If building could talk.

On Friday, March 22nd, the second day of Master's class, gave way to the practical part. During the morning, the candidates divided into 3 groups participating in workshops led by professionals. So they got acquainted in the various cameras and the techniques of realization of images in 3D.

This practical and theoretical initiation fed the reflection of the candidates who, during the afternoon, presented their artistic project to Anaël Pigeat, art critic and editor-in-chief of the magazine Art Press, and to Joséphine Derobe.

Following these interviews, the conference of commissioner of art Matthieu Poirier allowed them to make the link between the use of 3D and the work of numerous artists of the XXth and XXIth century on the perception and the optical illusion. This second day of Master's class ended on the projection of the movie in 3D of Wim Wenders, Pina, which completed the example of the artistic possibilities offered by this medium.

From  November 27- Januray 12, 2013 the Foundation Ricard presents a new exhibition of  Mathieu Mercier. This exhibition is the second personal exhibition of Mathieu Mercier in France since Sans Titre 1993-2007 at the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris in 2007.

The  exhibited works, sculptures and installations, question the place of art in our lifes through reworking everyday objects. The utilitarian status of objects was destroyed to better understand, placing them at borders of abstraction and reality.
